Biography
Andy Quin is an improvising concert pianist and organist with over 50 years if performing experience both as a soloist and with numerous ensembles. He has performed internationally and made numerous TV appearances and radio broadcasts. He is now probably the only performer in the world, who learnt the art of silent film organ improvisation directly from the original masters, who continues to practise the art whilst also composing and recording music for current film and TV.
With over 1,500 published compositions and thousands of broadcasts each year, Andy is one of the most prolific and successful production music composters. Working with the legendary publisher De Wolfe Music, he has provided soundtracks for film, TV, advertising, games and the media throughout the globe for decades. His music has attained more than 3 billion streams in recent years, is regularly broadcast in 100 countries and featured in everything from blockbuster Hollywood movies, to major global advertising campaigns. He has recorded with, composed for and conducted many of the world’s finest orchestras and musicians on over 100 albums. A pioneer and expert in music technology, computer programming and sampling with the Fairlight CMI in the early eighties, Andy is equally at home with arranging, orchestration and recording with live musicians. His music has received numerous nominations and awards, most recently a PMA in 2023.
He is currently an ambassador for the F-list (promoting female musicians / composers), a mentor for the Help Musicians charity, and sits on the PRS Licensing Committee Advisory Group and The Performing & Digital Arts Advisory Board, Royal Holloway University of London.
