Pimm’s and Hymns event fills Holy Trinity with song and spirit

Despite a blustery turn in the weather, last Saturday’s ‘Pimm’s and Hymns’ event proved to be an unforgettable afternoon at Holy Trinity. With winds too high to gather on Trinity Green, the festivities moved indoors - where the welcome was just as warm and the hymns just as joyful. Gosport Solent Brass filled the church with their rich accompaniment as 57 enthusiastic voices rose in song, celebrating well-loved hymns and sharing in their stories.

There was no shortage of gusto (or Pimm’s!) as friends and newcomers alike sang their hearts out. Highlights included a spirited unaccompanied rendition of Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, which many found especially moving. One attendee remarked, “I haven't sung with so much gusto for a long time!”

A heartfelt thank you goes to Alfie and his team for bringing it all together with such care and enthusiasm. Several guests praised the event's thoughtful planning and welcoming spirit, calling it “uplifting,” “brilliant,” and “wonderfully organised.”

There’s already talk of a winter follow-up - carols, mulled wine, and mince pies may be on the horizon… so watch this space!
